Fair Fashion

Wear what makes a difference

| Fair Fashion works to stand up for ethical fashion practices and sustainability in the fashion industry |

Some of the major concerns associated with fast fashion are greenhouse gas emissions, clothing waste, water pollution, and use of chemicals and nonrenewable resources. The low quality of garments means for a shorter time they can be used and pushes people towards throwing away pieces of clothing quicker, hence causing waste.

The fashion industry creates 10% of the world's carbon emissions and is the 2nd largest consumer of water globally.

Other concerns stem from human rights because of fast fashion companies producing products in countries with poor labor laws and work conditions and benefiting off the low costs. Sustainable brands work to recycle materials to create garments, limit waste, produce long lasting products, and promote fair labor laws. A survey by ThredUp found that the average person throws away 81 pounds of clothing per year.
