Women Built Archive.
On this page I have included an archive of the images used for the women built project. Archival was a main focus of my project because it insures the preservation of women’s stories, contributions, and identities, so their roles in our community are recognized and remembered for future generations. Many of these images feature the women that helped build my family, coming from very simple and rural beginnings. Using these images in the Women Built project reflected how rural women often played essential roles in agriculture, family life, local economies, and community-building. With their contributions often overlooked and underrepresented in mainstream narratives, I wanted to celebrate them and their efforts.
