Most fans of the vampire diaries agree that the characters in the show are why we fell in love with the series. Listed below are some of my favorite characters that are intruduced throughout the show.
Caroline Forbes
Caroline Forbes is the daughter of the sherif in mystic falls and one of elenas childhood friends. She is a known over achiever who always wants the best for her friends.

Alaric Saltzman
Alaric Saltzman is the new mystic falls history teacher and closeted vampire hunter. He becomes a father figure to elena and her brother who have lost both their parents.

Niklaus (Klaus) Mikaelson
Klaus is introduced in the show as a villain who wants to kill elena to break a curse that prevents him from being a werewolf. He is also one of the worlds oldest vampires and cannot be killed.

Lorenzo (Enzo) St. John
Enzo is a vampire who was once Damon’s cellmate in the 1950s. He slowly builds friendships with the other characters using his charm and nobility.
