Throughout the filming of the Vampire Diaries the cast of the show formed their own friendships and bonds, making some of the shows plot lines that much more interesting to watch. these actors and actresses also have gone on to have successful careers on and off the screen.

Klaus marries bonnie’s mom??

Surprisingly enough, the actor that plays the evil vampire Klaus, Joseph Morgan and the actress that plays elena’s witch bestie’s mom, persia white, are married in real life! It is speculated that the two met while filming TVD and have been together ever since. While we don’t see much interaction between these two characters in the show, it’s fun to know TVD is a natural matchmaker!

Elena and damon actually dated…

During filming of the show, actress nina dobrev, playing elena Gilbert, and actor ian Somerhalder, playing damon salvatore dated in real life. Though the two eventually split in 2013, watching the show back makes viewers question how much of their romance on screen wasn’t acting.

Stefan dates a werewolf.

Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hailey) met on the set of TVD in 2012 and dated until 2017. Hailey played a werewolf friend of Tyler and went on to star in the TVD spin off ‘The Originals’ as a main character. Though the two have little interaction on screen in TVD, lots of fans still adored the couple and were sad to hear of their split.

It’s clear to fans that the brotherly love shared on screen between Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley has manifested into reality.
