To those who see The Vampire Diaries at face value and think ‘This is just another Vampire heartthrob stereotype trope, how boring’…I was one of you. Luckily, I am here to tell you it’s not! Though I did like Twighlight mania, and the first season of The Vampire Diaries can be cheesy at times, this show has much more to offer. One of the most notable and satisfying differences TVD has compared to other Vampire shows is that it’s filled with super talented actors and builds suspenseful storylines that only have slight romantic undertones. To add, TVD’s most impactful and interesting relationship dynamics are often the familial ones.
